October has been a very busy month in the SECA library!  Kindergarten students began checking out books.  Circulation for the month of October was 1004 books!  In the "top titles" of the month, Barbie books held 9 of the 10 spots.  Transformers Prime managed to capture one of the the top title spots.

69 books were distributed to students participating in the library's "Cultivating Creativity, Raising Readers" reading program.  In order to qualify for a book, students returned a completed reading log by the due date.  The program is open to kindergarten students.  Plans are underway for a reading program for pre-k.

The library will be having a Scholastic Book Fair the week of November 12 - November 16.  Family night, with extended hours, will be on Thursday, November 15.  Information will be going home with students soon!

Pre-k students have been enjoying listening to and discussing stories by author and illustrator, Keiko Kasza.

Kindergarten students have been introduced to the art of shadow puppetry.  Classes have had a chance to try storytelling, using shadow puppets on an overhead projector.
