I grew up in Highlands, Texas and have been a lifelong musician. The first instrument I learned to play was the drum set, then I began learning guitar at home at age ten, and from sixth to twelfth grade I played the euphonium (baby tuba) in school. After graduating from Sterling High School in Baytown, Texas I went to college in Louisiana to study music at the University of New Orleans where I majored in Jazz Studies on the guitar. After receiving my Bachelor's degree in 2010 I returned to Texas and found a music teaching position in HISD and taught PK-5 Music as a paraprofessional at Durham Elementary for four years while working on my alternative certification. On March 15, 2014 I married my beautiful wife, Cassie! In the summer of 2014 I was very honored to become a Sheldon ECA Jaguar. I completed my teacher's certification for EC-12 Music after my first year of teaching in Sheldon. I still play guitar and euphonium as much as I can!
