Campus History
Sheldon Early Childhood Academy
Sheldon Early Childhood Academy was built in 1974 as Sheldon Junior High. It has served as an Intermediate campus for 5th and 6th grade, a 6th grade campus, and now as the second Early Childhood Academy for Sheldon ISD serving approximately 600 children in Pre-K and Kindergarten from the Eastern and Northern portions of the district.
In 2009, the Sheldon Early Childhood Learning Center opened on the campus as a benefit to district employees. The ELC provides childcare for district staff members' children from infants to 4 years of age. For 3 or 4 year olds, foundational instruction is provided similar to our pre-k program.
