Parent Engagement Information / Title I
Title I, Part A – Improving Basic Programs Operated By Local Educational Agencies—of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, provides supplemental funding to state and local educational agencies to acquire additional education resources at schools serving high concentrations of students from low-income homes. These resources are used to improve the quality of education programs and ensure students from low-income families have opportunities to meet challenging state assessments. You can find our Campus Improvement Plan below.
The Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) is a document that is at the core of everything we do throughout the year because it begins by assessing our campus needs from the previous year and then makes plans for the current year. Over the summer and during the early months of the school year, our Representative Council (administrators, parents, teachers and staff) meets to discuss the plan and develop our strategies to meet our goals for the year. The plan is then submitted to the district for approval and that document then guides our purchases of supplies, materials and services to provide the highest quality education that meets the specific needs of our campus. Periodically, our team meets to review each strategy to assess our progress and make recommendations for next year.
Sheldon Early Childhood Academy implements a school-wide program. Title I, Part A models, including school-wide models, use evidence-based methods and instructional strategies.
Throughout the year, we provide Parent/Family Engagement events such as Open House, Literacy Nights, Math and Science Nights, WatchD.O.G.S. Pizza Night, etc.
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), requires each State education agency to prepare and publish an annual report card with state-, district- and campus-level data. You can also access the SECA Federal Report Card below.
