What is S.T.E.A.M. and what does it look like at the Early Childhood level?
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), with the Arts infused is a way for students to dig deep into the sciences and allow the Arts to be the powerful, connective glue that sticks it all together.
At Sheldon ECA, we renovated the existing computer lab because it was not an effective way for four and five year olds to explore technology. The result was an exploration lab, with the best elements of the STEAM and maker space movement. Students are able to be inquirers and risk-takers as they go hands-on with all the elements of the STEAM framework. Our curriculum "macro-units' are embedded with a transdisciplinary approach
