I’m honored to support our students at Sheldon Early Childhood Academy as the librarian/media specialist. With 18 years of dedication to the Sheldon District—9 of those as a Pre-K teacher—I’m now entering my third year as librarian, a role where I get to inspire young minds daily. My goal is to create a nurturing library environment that fosters curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love for reading in each of our students. I aim to make books an exciting part of their world, encouraging them to explore stories, gain knowledge, and see reading as a pathway to endless adventures and learning.
During our library time, students will listen to a story, answer questions, and participate in a hands-on activity that connects to our reading. They will also explore our makerspace stations, where they can dive into creative and collaborative projects. These stations will offer them opportunities to build, design, and discover new skills, sparking curiosity and encouraging imaginative problem-solving.
