Car Rider Procedures for Arrival and Dismissal:All cars will enter the campus each day through the Beaumont Highway entrance and follow the stacking system described below. No cars will be allowed to enter through the bus ramp or back parking lot because that is the primary exit for all vehicles. In addition, there is no parking on the Lamkin Rd side of
the campus because this is the Early Learning Center area for the district.

Please do not get out of your vehicle to walk your child up to the back door and do not let your child get out of the vehicle before arriving to the designated drop off areas that are supervised by our staff.

Stacking system:

The first parents to arrive will begin lining up in the lane closest to the school. When that lane is full, parents should fill the next lane and then the third. Cars after that will wind back around through the parking lot. We will begin the car rider line with the first lane, then the second, the third, and then the
cars after. Please be patient with our staff members, as our primary goal is for ALL of our young students to arrive and dismiss safely to and from school every day.

The Sheldon Early Childhood Academy Campus Improvement PlanThe Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) is a document that is at the core of everything we do throughout the year because it begins by assessing our campus needs from the previous year and then makes plans for the current year.  Over the summer and during the early months of the school year, our Site-Based Decision-Making Committee (administrators, parents, teachers and staff) meets to discuss the plan and develop our strategies to meet our goals for the year. The plan is then submitted to the district for approval and that document then guides our purchases of supplies, materials and services to provide the highest quality education that meets the specific needs of our campus.  Periodically, our team meets to review each strategy to assess our progress and make recommendations for next year. Each year, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) shares a Federal Report Card for our middle school campus to give families a helpful, big-picture look at how we are doing. This report reflects key areas of our school's performance, including student progress on state assessments, teacher qualifications, and overall school quality. While this snapshot highlights our current achievements, it also serves as a vital guide for where we want to go next. In Sheldon ISD, our focus is always on continuous growth; we are fully committed to using this data to strengthen our classrooms, support every student's unique learning journey, and ensure our middle school continues to reach new heights year after year.

Sheldon Early Childhood Academy

Sheldon Early Childhood Academy was built in 1974 as Sheldon Junior High. It has served as an Intermediate campus for 5th and 6th grade, a 6th grade campus, and now as the second Early Childhood Academy for Sheldon ISD serving approximately 600 children in Pre-K and Kindergarten from the Eastern and Northern portions of the district. 

In 2009, the Sheldon Early Childhood Learning Center opened on the campus as a benefit to district employees. The ELC provides childcare for district staff members' children from infants to 4 years of age. For 3 or 4 year olds, foundational instruction is provided similar to our Pre-K program.
