Instructional Coaches

Ms Holmes

SECA is a fantastic ECA focused on the overall growth of each student. It's a joy to teach students by giving them a firm educational foundation to be successful and watch them grow.

My name is Melanie Holmes. I am a Campus Instructional Specialist at Sheldon ECA. I enjoy supporting our staff with curriculum and materials to help increase our student's knowledge in all areas.

I started my career in early childhood education at Aldine ISD for seven years. In 2014 I taught Kindergarten for one year and then Pre-Kindergarten for three years at Sheldon Early Childhood Academy. Currently, I am an Instructional Coach and have been since 2018. I am dedicated to helping ensure our teachers have what they need to be successful and help meet all students' needs.

I played soccer for one year at Hardin Simmons University. Then transferred to Texas A&M University, where I completed my degree. I  finished the Rice University School of Literacy Storytelling program and The Early Literacy Leadership Academy (ELLA). These opportunities have helped me grow as an Educator.

I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling with my husband and three daughters.

I'm eager to help our Jaguars learn, grow, and see their love for learning evolve!

Ms Wilson

Sheldon Early Childhood Academy is a wonderful place for a child to start their educational journey. It is a privilege to help provide a firm foundation for young students.

My name is Ada Wilson, and I am a Campus Instructional Specialist here at Sheldon Early Childhood Academy. I am excited to support staff in executing dynamic and differentiated lessons using research-based practices that increase the performance of all students and yield success.

I have worked with children in different roles, including working as a bus operator for thirteen years, a classroom teacher for fourteen years, a campus administrator for three years in HISD, and most recently, the past three years as a CIS for SECA. I am passionate and dedicated to ensuring that students enjoy the formative years of school and become well-rounded individuals who believe they can accomplish anything they strive to do.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Downtown and my Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston. The education I received has helped me evolve as an Educator, and I strive to be a lifelong learner and improve my craft.

I love spending time and traveling with my family, which includes my husband of thirty-two years, two daughters, two sons, one daughter and son-in-law,  and one precious grandson.

I am thrilled to help create a fun and loving learning environment for your child. Learning is taking place every day!
